Expecting Parents

Congratulations on the upcoming birth of your child! Our practice is accepting new patients, and we would be honored to be your child’s future pediatric care team.

Why Choose Quad Cities Pediatrics?

Choosing a pediatrician is one of the most important decisions a parent makes for their child. Our practice offers a combination of attributes that you will not find elsewhere in the Quad Cities:

  • Our practice is independently owned and operated by our pediatricians. Therefore, our focus is on providing the best pediatric care possible; the care we expect for our own children when they need medical care.
  • Our pediatricians see patients in the newborn nurseries at MercyOne Genesis – Davenport and Unity Point Trinity – Bettendorf. This allows your family to have continuity of care from the moment your child is born.
  • Our team provides full scope pediatric care, from well visits to sick visits and management of chronic conditions, such as behavioral health conditions (ADHD, anxiety, depression), asthma, constipation, and many more.
  • Our practice features the only pediatric-specific urgent care in the Quad Cities with walk-in hours to fit even the busiest schedules. We even have hours on both Saturdays AND Sundays!
  • We have a team of experienced triage nurses available during practice hours to answer questions over the phone, make recommendations, and schedule visits whenever needed.
  • One of our providers is always on-call for urgent medical questions outside of business hours.

Prenatal Visits

We are happy to host prenatal visits to the office. These appointments are at no cost to you, and you are under no obligation to enroll at the practice. A prenatal visit is not required to enroll your family in our practice.

These visits are an opportunity for you to see the office (you’ll have to pick which room’s theme is your favorite!), meet some of our staff (including at least one physician or nurse practitioner), and ask any questions that you may have as you prepare to welcome your child into the world!

Group prenatal tours occur once monthly at 5:30 PM and are open to any families considering our office. The following dates are scheduled as of now:

  • Wednesday, January 28, 2026 with Dr. Hartman
  • Tuesday, February 24, 2026 with Dr. Hartman

If these dates do not work for you and you would still like to have a prenatal visit, please contact our office, and we will schedule a time that works for you!

Your Child is Born…Now What?

Congratulations on the birth of your child!

If your child is born at MercyOne Genesis – Davenport or Unity Point Trinity – Bettendorf:

After delivery, notify the nursing staff that Quad Cities Pediatrics is going to be your child’s pediatric office, and they will let us know that we have a new baby to see (one of our favorite phone calls to get!).

Within the first 24 hours after the birth of your child, one of our physicians will come to see your child and family in the hospital and will manage your child’s care throughout their admission to the newborn nursery. This allows us to have continuity of care with you and your family from day one, something a lot of our current families appreciate!

The physician who sees you in the hospital will work with you and your family throughout the hospital stay and then will determine the appropriate follow-up time frame for your first visit to the office. Don’t worry about calling us in advance to book a newborn visit, we always have those slots available, just plan to call us on your way home or first thing the next day after discharge and our staff will set up your first visit!

If your child is born at a different hospital:

After delivery, notify the nursing staff that Quad Cities Pediatrics is going to be your child’s pediatric office. The facility will then assign a provider to see your child throughout their admission and will manage their care while you are admitted to the hospital.

Once you are discharged from the hospital, please call our office and let us know the time frame that the hospital provider wanted your baby to follow up within, and we will set up your newborn visit. Just as above, you do not need to worry about calling us before your child is born to set up a newborn visit; we always have those slots available!
